CONSTANTLY UNFOLDING
In this work, I use a brush to draw a black circle of acrylic paint on my chest. The drawing expands towards the neck and face in a black and white monochrome, as a close-up reveals the materiality of the paint and the texture of the skin. Another cut, to an action performed with a paintbrush on closed eyelids, leads to the development of a new drawing in shades of yellow upon the face and neck. At the end, the figure stands in different poses within the frame of the screen.
This work speaks of transformation, withdrawal, and rebirth into a figure that may appear human/male/female, in a constantly unfolding process.
